In California, the CEO of Cinemark, Alan Stock, donated $9999 to the Yes on 8 Campaign, but will now profit from showing the newly released film about Harvey Milk, MILK in his theaters. I want to encourage GLBT supporters in our community to boycott seeing MILK at a Cinemark theatre. Vote with your pocketbook! Don’t let Alan Stock and his company use our dollars to underwrite campaigns that are homophobic and repressive. Join a national effort to show Stock and others that if they choose to support initiatives like Prop 8 than we in turn will take our business elsewhere, permanently!

I have an assignment for all of you:  help to dispel the mystery surrounding why a majority of people continue to oppose full equality for gay couples.  Find out where all the straight people in your life stand on the issue.  Make them talk about it.  Force them to go on the record.  If they are opposed, or if they equivocate, help them to understand all the practical challenges faced by gay couples as long as we are denied full equality under the law.
