Why consider joining Four Freedoms Democratic Club?

Four Freedoms and other LGBT organizations have exerted a growing influence on the political process over the past decade through relationships established with elected officials and candidates for office. The result of these relationships is tangible: in recent years, the passage of a nondiscrimination ordinance, the creation of a domestic partnership registry and the institution of domestic partner benefits for public employees all mark the advance of lgbt equality in our community.

Key to the success of Four Freedoms and other lgbt rights organizations is their membership. Elected officials take notice when significant numbers of people belong to a political organization - numbers equate to influence when politicians see there is a constituency.

By simply signing up as a member of Four Freedoms, you can make a difference, helping to increase the influence of the lgbt community on area elected officials. If you are interested in making an even greater impact, you can volunteer your time and talents.
